The cult classic 90's comedy starring Winona Ryder (Edward Scissorhands, Stranger Things) and Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber) is coming to Blu-ray for the first time worldwide!

The imminent homecoming of rock star Roxy Carmichael sends the good folks of her small Ohio hometown into a frenzy of preparation. Among those anxiously anticipating this joyous reunion are Denton, Roxy’s old boyfriend (Jeff Daniels) and Dinky (Winona Ryder), a troubled teen who is obsessed with the notion that Roxy is her natural mother. The town fathers are preparing a welcome. The town mothers are trying to spruce up. The high school band is practicing a fanfare, and Dinky’s getting ready to leave.

Its a sweet movie. There are likeable characters and good screenplay. Now sadly the ending is anti-climatic. I mean its not terrible. But the makers took the easier way out. Had the movie taken the "plunge" this would have been a much better movie. After all the good build up using a very simplistic yet effective premise and interesting characters the ending is rather trivial.
I think the Hindi movie Billo Barber starring SRK and Irfan Khan was inspired by this movie. Also the Hollywood mockumentary Waiting For Guffman which I think is better than this movie. But you gotta credit the original.
