Apparently it was damaged by a hurricane in 1944 and then damage more when they remodeled the hall. It is only 60% of what it used to be. But it still sounds impressive.

I support the maintenance of this instrument annually and have a tally been privileged to play it int early to mid 80d. "Tim" scolded me for playing if too much like a "church organist!"

Lived in NJ for 50 years (but not the last ten), visited AC many times and never knew about this organ. Would love to hear one day. Seems in the midst of a lengthy restoration process (6 years in so far & only about 30% complete). Glad Anna had the chance to sample and hope she could play again when the restoration is completed ☺!
