Just started the hobby and ran into the issue. Thanks for the tips for the future!

In the beginning of the video you said you'll talk about how to fix dried up paints, why did you bother adding chapters/markers in the timeline if you aren't going to include when you talked about how to fixed dry paints. It's at around 11:00 minutes by the way for anybody who doesn't want to sit through it.

Great video! It's about time someone made one like this! It's tiresome seeing people slam GW's paint pots endlessly when the real problem is they are simply unwilling to do a minor amount of maintenance. I'll be linking this video everywhere! Keep it up!

I have a friend who sold me 2 toolboxes of paints, wash and varnish because he'd long quit the hobby. Alot of them where dried out to the consistency of almost Playdoh, so this helped me alot. My Necron army thanks you.

I just discovered this issue after long term storage. Pop the caps off the pot, lean the rim with a damp cloth. Run the lids under warm water and hook the dry paint out. Removing the lid for cleaning reduces the risk of spillage and more paint than necessary on your hands.

The pots are trash. I now have to clean a dozen of them and be paranoid about paint flowing down the tounge down into the lid.
The problem isn't air coming in, but water vapor coming out of the pot.

Still have some proper old round sealed tub of Polished Blue as well as some of the first hex bottles with white caps. Still working and I used to remove the paint ring all the time. 10:30 All the screw tops, similar to yours here are dead. The earlier ones are mostly still great!!

Golden High Flow or Airbrush mediums would do a better job at retaining the paint composition.

I just wish GW would go back to the hex pots from '94.

I had a friend give me a huge box of paints to get started. Everything that was citadel was hard as a rock or like putty. Every other brand was perfect. That taught me early on to avoid the brand when I can

I have spent a small fortune on paint, but left painting for a year. Came back and they were ruined despite making sure they were closed. What i find annoying I have an original Citadel Woodland green bottle over 25 years old that is still fine. So thanks for the video going to try and revive them

As a beginner I think this might have saved three of my bottles. I was wondering why there were lumps appearing and they were drying so quickly..! This happened to me after just a couple weeks - I was probably too messy when opening them the first time..

Great stuff, the real problem is GW not fixing the problem. This way they sell more overpriced paint

I tried some water but that only makes it a little but more moist, still with allot of loose particles in it. Ill try thinner next time!

I secure a small 6" trigger clamp into the end of my reciprocating saw. Add a little water and a stainless "B-B" to my old paint and pull the trigger. Instant turbo paint shaker. The "BB" breaks apart all the chunks. works like a champ!

Just dont know why this is a problem still after 30 years I've been dealing with this from every bottle style. Will be converting over to dropper bottles

I am trying a few drops of boiling water and then shake vigorously. It works a bit

Just pull the top off, push it inside out and the dried paint just falls off, then put the lid back on.

I'm just gonna stop using their paints.
