I just realized the legendary Pokemon kyogre, groudon, and rayquaza was similar to leviathan, behemoth, and ziz .

I like to see myself starting a metal band called Ziz. There's already a black metal band from Poland named Behemoth and some other band from the US called Leviathan so why not round out all 3? Our debut albums will be called XYZiz and Calendar of ReZiZtance, and we'll have a Christmas album covering plenty of holiday songs and call it The Santanic Temple

Pokemon has a legendary inspired by Ziz, namely Rayquaza from 3rd gen, although it's more in terms of role than appearance. That set of games also features a legendary for Leviathan and Behemoth as well (Kyogre and Groudon respectively).

Would like to see Ziz in the MonsterVerse as a rival to both Behemoth and Leviathan. My guess is that MonsterVerse Ziz looks like a gigantic griffin, but it will be part vulture instead of eagle. And inside Ziz's mouth, there are teeth that look like a Velociraptor's fangs.

Im wondering why Zi did not get much popularity as compared to Leviathan and Behemoth.


You see Behemoth so frequently in stories and games, Behemoth itself became a word to desribe something massive.


Leviathan, although not as popular as Behemoth became is still relevant. Most notably on Final Fantasy and Dota 2.


Ziz on the other hand has nothing on it. I've never heard a pop culture using Ziz.

The ziz doesn't appear to be mentioned in psalm 50:11 that appears to be the poetic commentary of specific translations rather than proper exegetical hermeneutic translation

This appears to be solely Babylonian

Seems they wanted a Rodan to match with Kong and gojira there
