I love the realism of this film. No CGI effects or excessive gore and yet it manages to be terrifying because of the real life situation.

I saw this in the theater with my wife:
1. This is master class in how to make a low-budget movie blow far larger movies away.
2. My wife and I hugged for about 10 minutes after this was over. Intense experience.

I could not imagine what that poor couple was going thru, stranded in the middle of the ocean with sharks circling them. This is beyond a nightmare, being in a situation that you know will only end one way. This was just HORRIBLE.

I remember when I was about 10, I went for a ride on my Uncles sailboat in Fla. It was me, My Dad and him. We toppled over and all these fins came up out of the water and circled us. They were Dolphins protecting us and they circled us until we got that boat back up and we were safe. But when you first see those fins and don't know what it is for many seconds, It feels like a lifetime. I couldnt imagine being those people.

This shark clip is better than 99% of all the shark films out there. It induces what shark fear should truly be: you cant see them lurking beneath the waters, and it doesnt always need to be a 6m GWS to give you the most horrifying experience of death.

8:40 literally one of my biggest fears; being stranded on the open ocean during the night, I'd go insane right there; must be something primordial (in terms of evolution, humans are meant to roam on the surface and during daytime)

What blows my mind about this true story is that it took two days to figure out they were missing. It took them that long to realize there were two sets of unclaimed belongings on the boat?

Every diving gear should be equipped with a flair as a safety measure. ( Possibly attached to the oxygen tanks, that discharges when pressed or pulled cord/button) at least 3. Or a flair gun mandatory equipped with diving gear)

I recall watching this with my girlfriend at the time not knowing anything about this film. I left feeling completely “freaked out”. Her choice to drown her self was the best option and that was what was so shocking.
