Cheers, very great video you made, I agree that FSR is just a mess in this game, was able to test it versus intel xess 1.3 and I was actually shocked as well. Dunno how DLSS is looking since my videocard not supporting it, but people say for cyberpunk it looks like this: DLSS>Intel Xess>Any FSR and I kinda agree since Xess looks cool with a little bit bad textures.

This confirms why there's growing negative sentiment in the gaming community about the use of TAA & upscalers to compensate for bad optimization & visual artifacts... Games 10 years ago were so much clearer & sharper 💀 (even though they technically had worse graphics)

I just tested a Quadro K2200 with a 3rd gen i5 in Cyberpunk today. Using FSR 2.1 with Ultra performance, I was able to get it to run at a locked 30fps using Ultra Performance, which FSR 3 doesn't have. And FSR 3 settings run at a higher internal resolution compared to the 2.1 equivalent setting. I tried the FSR frame gen and it fell flat on its face. Stutterfest. I then tried Lossless scaling with a render resolution of 720p and upscaling with LS1 to 1080p with 2x frame gen. Because of the overhead, I was only able to get it to run at 25fps internally with 2x frame gen (LSFG 2.3) to get a steady 50fps.
I think LS1 is better than DLSS or FSR and LS Frame Gen 2.3 is far more efficient than either FSR 3 or DLSS 3 frame gen. It definitely looks better than FSR frame gen and looks at least as good as DLSS Frame gen. It is also more efficient.
I ultimately decided it was better to play Cyberpunk set at 1080p30 with FSR 2.1 Ultra Performance even though it wasn't the best looking option. It was, however, the option with the lowest input latency.
While I have had great results with Lossless Scaling in other games, it seems like it doesn't play so well with Cyberpunk and I was surprised it even worked in the first place because Cyberpunk has no fullscreen mode and LS says you must run games in fullscreen mode.

Problem is every FSR update past 2.1 isn't just an upgrade. Its some improvements + some downgrades. I always felt like 2.1 was overall better than 2.2, what it did right was more important.

And I know 3.1 has some flaws compared to 2.2 but I haven't tested 3.1 enough to determine if its better than 2.1 yet.

But its sad that the progression of FSR has been linear.

7900XTX and Ryzen 9 7950X3D. FSR 3 performs worse than FSR 2.1 in Cyberpunk on my system in 4K (I only play 4K). FSR 2.1 is not only more efficient but also offers better image quality, especially when it comes to distant details, which appear noticeably sharper with FSR 2.1 and I have 48'' Oled display so it is easy to see the difference. Both are set to quality mode, and the difference is around 11 FPS on average, which is significant. I suspect there may be an issue with the implementation of FSR 3, given the large performance gap. I use my proven settings at which I have an average of 83 FPS in tests with FSR 2.1. With my settings I am usually playing above 100 FPS as most of the places isn't that frame hungry as the city center. Seems that FSR 3 in this game just suck and it is better to use 2.1.

Try using LukeFZ FSR 3.1 mod - it's 2x clearer and ray tracing looks perfect, reflections are sharp while moving (though a bit pixelated). Path tracing makes sense - but it makes more sense with Xess1.3+AMD FG. Cdprojekt is walking nvidia 40x0 commecrial - I've lost all my hope with them.

Best settings for AMD with RT is the FSR 3.1 mod, and the ghosting fix with FG on. With DLSS set to quality (FSR 2.1), setting it to DLAA or turning off the upscaler and just running the FSR FG mod gives you extremely bad input lag. Too bad these asshats botched the update and gave us shitty 3.0

fsr 3.1.2 is so much better than what they implemented

You can't tell me this wasn't on purpose with 3.1 available to them.

The Nvidia mafia strikes again.

can we get an FSR comparison without mods or any of that bs?
