Thank you for this recipe. I made this now. I tweaked it a bit and it came out perfect. Tastes awesome! Here is my adapted version to serve 4 people:
2 peach flavoured rooibos teabags(or any fruit flavoured tea of choice)
8 small pears or 4 large pears
2 and quarter cups boiled water
Half teaspoon vanilla paste or extract
Three quarter cups brown sugar
Pinch dried lemon rind (optional)
1 small stick cinnamon
2 cloves
Pinch saffron

Combine teabags, water, vanilla and sugar in a wide saucepan. Heat on low heat until sugar dissolves. Switch off heat and allow teabags to infuse fir about 5 minutes. Remove and discard teabags. Place pears with remaining ingredients in pan. Bring to boil uncovered, l for 1 minute then immediately cover with lid, lower heat and simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes depending on size of pears. Turn off heat and leave in covered pan for about 5 to 8 minutes and it's ready to serve either warm or cold.
