In this video, we will show the R730's various NIC options and even demonstrate how to install your network card. This is a fairly simple process and will be an easy installation overall. You can install a PCIe NIC or a Daughter Card. I recommend the Daughter Card for 2 reasons. First, you will not use a PCIe slot with the daughter card, which will leave that slot open for future upgrades or requirements. Second, the daughter card is quad port, whereas, the PCIe version is dual port. You can install 4 x 1GbE, 4 x 10GbE or 2 x 1GbE + 2 x 10GbE. There are RJ45 and SFP+ options available. We will provide a thorough list towards the final portion of our video. I would not be surprised to hear there are plenty of other cards that work as well. This was just a comprehensive list of what we have found to work.

It would be nice if you could list the dell part numbers for each of the modules, so that its easier to search for them online for purchase. I am looking at getting a 730 but it comes with 4x1gbe, I want to see about getting the split daughter board with either the rj45 or the sfp+, still researching a switch right now and not sure what I want yet. I can use the 4x1 in link-ag mode like I have on my other servers right now, but I am really wanting to go 10GBE on the servers.
