The spruce goose is an amazing aircraft, not only does it have a gigantic wingspan(to the point you can land a small plane on it) but it was also made nearly completely out of wood. It took off and landed in water and not off a runway. I believe it only flew one time because of safety concerns but it is still an amazing show of what we can do

I saw this at an air museum and it’s MASSIVE you get to go inside too. It’s such a cool plane and I wish it would fly again. Next door is a space museum with the Sr-71 blackbird

My grandma worked at the museum. It’s made of birch and technically a flying boat. Massive thing, very cool to see.
