How to Keep a Balance Between Access to Information and National Security?

Ukraine is facing a difficult challenge in this matter in the conditions of war. However, Ukraine is not the first country forced to solve such a problem. The main challenges, recommendations for the authorities, and the experience of other states will be discussed on October 10, 2024 at the International Conference "Balance of access to information and national security - lessons from Ukraine during armed conflicts."

At the conference, answers will be sought, in particular on the following topics:
- Adaptation of international standards and best practices to Ukrainian realities.
- Examples of successful interaction of state authorities and international organizations in the field of access to information during armed conflicts.
- Challenges facing state institutions in ensuring the right to information.
- Prevention of abuses in ensuring the right to information during armed conflict.
- The value of journalistic investigations in the coverage of socially important issues in the conditions of war.
