Drive Angry 3D movie review

I give you a quick Drive Angry 3D movie review.

I suppose if going into this movie thinking it'll be about a regular angry guy racing in a muscle car, then you're up for a surprise and might not enjoy the movie because it's not what you were in the mood to watch. I didn't know anything about this movie, but I like Nic Cage and 3D, so picked it up. As soon as I started watching it, I understood what kind of a ride I'm in for, sort of like a mix of Ghost Rider & Faster, and then some. I enjoyed the over the top aspects of this movie; they just made me laugh. It's a fun crazy pop-corn movie that probably isn't the best choice to watch with kids or older parents.
Thanks for the review! Maybe if you ever decide to re-watch this one, you'll enjoy it more because you'll know what you're getting yourself into.

I don't know if I have a different version or what but mine doesn't have the black bars on the top and bottom. Mine takes up the whole screen.

I'm a big fan of Cage so take it with a grain of salt. I love the grindhouse feel and some of the more unique ways the film incoporated 3D like the superimpose facial image in one of the flashback scenes. Like you said it's over the top but in a goofy fun type of way. Invite some buddies over grab a few beers sit back and enjoy kinda movie~

I just purchased this movie in October. However, we haven't had the opportunity to watch it yet. We don't have kids in our home cinema as my youngest is a full-grown adult. So everything is fair game for us. Thanks for the candid review. We will make time to watch this as soon as possible; especially, since the pop outs are good.

How do you watch movies in 2d on a 3D projector im having trouble figuring that out

I didn't think it was that violent to be honest stuff like deadpool kick ass and kingsman way worse, but was pretty sexual. I did like it but didn't really understand it. I didn't think there was lots of pop outs but it had good depth and sometimes I liked how bullet went flying to the side like not towards or in screen. And like how the smoke surrounded car when he drove and scenes with reflections etc. It also had good scenes with people standing behind him or stuff in front of him like fire etc

Hi Tommy, I can see where you are coming from, in your review. I would feel very uncomfortable watching this with my wife, but I have to say I did enjoy the movie and the 3d and didn’t take it too seriously. Another film in similar vein is ‘Sin City 2 - A Dame to Die For’ . This has superb 3D and a comic book style that has to be seen to be believed. I had to hunt around to find a copy but, of it’s type, it is unique and belongs in a 3d collection.
