Panda Dub creates surprise with his futuristic album 'Shapes and Shadows'
Two years after the release of his last album, Panda Dub took the time to perfect himself to arrive at a perfectly realized album.

The producer from Lyon has been a flag bearer for the Dub for more than 10 years and has marked the Dub scene with each of his albums. Titles like "Smile is the Key" make him an emblem of the genre. Panda dub, inspired by legendary bands such as High Tone or Alpha and Omega, is a source of inspiration for many. Today he perfectly embodies the new generation that offers a renaissance to the genre.

Shapes and Shadows is a testament to this musical revival. Because if there is no doubt that the roots and colorful sounds that made the identity of the artist are present, he returns with a more mature album out of his usual comfort zone.

And even if this new and more futuristic inspiration has been able to disturb his fans of the first hours, we particularly appreciate this research of depth which shows that the artist is able to renew himself while keeping what makes the identity of his music.

When Panda Dub questions his fans on his facebook page to find out which title they preferred, it is "Shankara" which logically stood out because it is the only title of the album on which one finds the mark of original factory of the artist. For other tracks, Panda Dub has created a surprise by focusing on diversity. We find, for example, sounds based on a Hip-Hop beat precisely associated with dub sounds as on "I would be alone in a shell". It is with a bold remix of High Tone "Bad Weather" that the artist shows the full extent of his talent by revisiting a title released 15 years ago. The piece begins with a surprising introduction with the sample of the original melody on a background of Hip Hop until a scratch phase to create the transition with a long cosmic journey highlighted by the synthesizer and bass. The artist ended the celestial stroll that is his album with the title "Labyrinth", dark and disturbing futuristic sounds as we are not used to hear it.
