Uncle Iroh seriously ended up being the best character in the entire show. And it’s actually pretty rare to see any story featuring an uncle. I’m an aunt now—I was young when this show came out originally—and now I kinda relate to Uncle Iroh. I love my niece and nephew and would protect them too. But, I think there’s more stories featuring loving aunts than uncles. So that’s why this story just stands out. And so glad to see.

I feel Zuko’s maternal heritage also played a huge role in his eventual redemption and subsequent joining of Team Avatar as Aang’s firebending Sifu. 😊
