This movie is a classic example of how right casting elevate the script to a whole new level
Anil Kapoor - Just being AK with all the swag plus the patriarchal mindset that the character demands
Priyanka - layered performance with lot of pain, anger beneath that strong business woman
Ranveer - one of those rare occasion where he subtly underplays the role n comes out with flying colours (more of this ranveer pls)
Shefali - performance of the movie for me.. what a women.. what an actress 🔥🔥🔥

The only reason why people used to bash Zoya Akhtar's films before Gully Boy is because her subjects and characters are too elite and hi-fi for a layman to relate to. Even in ZNMD, it was about 3 well to do boys with an established career going on a road trip, all the way to Spain. Now although many people have really yearned to travel like this abroad with their friends after this film, the ground reality is too harsh for anyone to neglect. Not only are a large number of Indian Youths insecure about their jobs and salaries, but to leave behind families and their responsibility for the sake of a friends tour is too much to be envious of.

How can Indian Movie audiences make this movie a flop? It's such an entertaining, interesting and good movie. Which could've helped even a little bit for Indian society to see the reality of the situation, realize them, acknowledge their mistakes and change for better. India is world's second most populated country and still this good movie became flop. That Means this movie was so right, it even proved furthur that there are more people who are still following old orthodox/harmful culture and traditions. So, they are not ready for the change, they couldnt accept the change even in the movie. Or, the movie went just right over their heads, they didn't understand it at all and so the movie was flop. We Non Indians are searching for every parts, trying to put pieces together, understand whole movie and still its entertaining movie. Just imagine watching in movie hall/ theater, with best quality from all aspects, where it will do full justice to the movie. Well, I'm sorry if my comment felt like I'm referring to every Indian people and calling their culture bad. I'm genuinely not trying to do so. I know, We all have good people and bad people, good culture/tradition and bad ones. The fact is there are also good sides to Indians culture, family value. I hope young generation will try to find/acknowledge the good sides too, be proud of their culture and not just be ashamed and follow western culture. At the same time deny/dismiss harmful cultures.
