Markhor Documentary I Wildlife Documentary

Показать описание
Markhor is an incredible wild goat with male horns measuring almost 5 feet and weighing more than 100 kilos. The kids are born in the steepest of terrains where they survive their initial days escaping formidable predators such as wolves, lynx, and golden eagles.
In the rut season, the males engage in deadly battles where they fight for dominance to earn the respect of female markhors.
Chitral Gol National Park is one of the very few places on earth where close to 3000 markhors thrive. Making it one of the few stable populations in the world. A remarkable comeback from a few hundred.
But presumably with rising temperatures, the snow leopard, the apex predator has disappeared from the region and the lynx population has increased, disturbing the natural balance. The smaller predator is more efficient at killing the kids of markhor, putting a dent in the fresh gene pool.

Your documentaries are amazing! Very few wildlife filmmakers ever bother to go to Pakistan, which is a shame because as your films show the natural beauty of this country is incredible. Thank you for showing this side of Pakistan to the rest of us, and I hope to see more films soon!

Especially from Balochistan, Punjab and Kashmir! Those places haven't been featured yet.

I was born in a village which is famously regarded as the home of Markhor, the village of Lachipora in district Baramulla. And as a result, a wildlife sanctuary was commissioned by the name of Lachipora Wildlife Sanctuary. All my life until now, i have been hearing the stories of this majestic animal. Though i've seen gorals often in my village but sightseeing a Markhor was always a dream until i saw them also. But having no binoculars or sophisticated cameras my vision was limited to what only my eyes could zoom and see.

But thank you Abdullah Bahi. Your documentary is up at the top along with all the videos of the Markhor ever made. From Snow Leopard to The Markhor, my most beloved animal, we have come a long way. Your productions are a treat to the eye. Much Love. ❤️

Finally, an actual nature video of wild goats that aren't being hunted, killed, posed with, or mounted... it's all I see on youtube. For example, if I felt like watching something about ibex, argali, American bighorn or thinhorn sheep, aoudad, it doesn't matter, it's all hunting videos. So thank you!!

Even though I am against trophy hunters, the opinions expressed in this documentary make complete sense. The trophy hunters pay for the conservation of wildlife and habitat, in a place where there are no few if any jobs. Money is provided to the community helping to raise living standards. It's a system that is clearly working, you have to admire all those involved.
