For all people wondering if this works with nikon speedlights prior to SB-5000, it doesn't!
SB-5000 is the first nikon speedlight with wireless RF controllability. Still, you'll need the WR-R10 + WR-A10 adapter attached to the D850 to fire it remotely

Want Nikon to explain why the SB5000 (made in China) is More $$$ than the SB910 (made in Japan) was.

Thank you for letting the audience know which junk not to buy.

Really? I have an SB910, and three SB-900s. This functionality isn't compatible with my D850 and these flash units. I'd need to buy an SB5000 flash unit along with a WR-A10 Adapter and a WR-T10 Transmitter.

Hi!!!! I have an SB-800 on Nikon d850 and therefore, i would like to know if it works in the wireless mode. . I 've attempting but no way.

You need the WRT10 or the SU 800 that have more resources. Flash SB 5000 or SB 700 never works remote without a conection cable to D850.

This video is a bit misleading. For the off-camera speed light to trigger, you need (according to page 2 of the D850 manual) at WR-R10 and a WR-A10 adaptor

thats not a built in function as the video wants to make you believe, you need an external controller like before.... it's barely visible in the video, only if you know where to look

Useless. Fails to tell you that you need to spend $600 for that Speedlight.

Who would want to pay the current retail price of $750 for an SB-5000 speed light. It's just a speed light for heaven's sakes.

to use this you MUST buy new flash SB-5000 and radio controller.
Nikon, why you deleted built-in flash from 850???

Hello,

I own the Nikon Speedlight SB-5000 and SB-500 and I use them with my Nikon D850. How can I set up both speedlights to be use off camera without a wireless trigger, only using the camera radio-control feature? Thank you very much for your help.

I have a Q, I have the SB700 and want to trigger it wirelessly by using a Elinchrom Transmitter Pro on the Fuji Camera hotshoe, and a Elinchrom Skyport Receiver Plus attached to the SB700. Should I set my SB700 switch onto Remote then say using Manual mode on the SB700 (I don’t use TTL), then ensure my SB700 setting are the same as the attached Skyport Receiver Plus e.g. Group B and Channel 1. Or is that not correct? Grateful for your advice please.

I am so disappointed in Nikon, I’ve spent hours trying to figure out how to get my camera to work and only now realized that what I have is not compatible and I need to buy more equipment! And they wonder why their sales are going down, this is bullshit Nikon
