Born in the fifties I started life with culture telling me who I was. I’m going to finish my life telling culture who I am.

Dress your energy, not your age. I love that. I just turned 70 but I don't feel that at all. I kept worrying that I was dressing too young and looked silly. I'm not going to worry about it anymore.

I am 10 years older than you and I still wear my hair long. It's salt and pepper grey, but I do it anyway. I wear and look how I feel. I am petite and olive skinned similar to you. I think we should all be ourselves. I really like your content and philosophy. Thank you for what you do.

I’m 58 and Ive got to admit…I’m having the time of my life with fashion. I’ve lost 45 pounds and am feeling so good about myself. Do I wish I had done this in my 30’s and 40’s? I don’t think so. I was raising my daughter and didn’t have a lot of time to myself.
I refuse to dress like my friends (not being mean). I want to be that woman who cares about her style. (To stand out). Good video!

I am in my 70s and I still like the colors and styles I liked at 20. I don’t have hair to my waist and I can’t go braless, but I still like pretty clothes. I am better known now for my smile than my figure.

I have 2 observations about hair - for the record, I’m currently a 72y.o. who wears her hair in a bob that doesn’t quite reach my shoulders: First, In the movie Minority Report, there is a scene where Max von Sydow, is being given an award (a golden gun). The camera pans to the award show attendees who are all very successful business men and their wives (all aged at least 50+). Everyone of the perfectly groomed women had short hair, which was supposed to show they were “older women” and to convey age. I thought, hmmmm, not the image I want to convey…age? Nope. The second story is personal. When my mother was in her late 50s, she had female pattern baldness, so her hair was very thin, very fine and salt and pepper. She chose to wear a long blond wig to conceal this. It ended about 4” past her shoulders. I, who was in my mid-30s at the time, asked her why she chose to wear that length instead of a short haired wig. She told me it was because the long wig was her “youth and beauty.” She then put on a short wig so that I could do a comparison. She was right. She looked about 10-15 years younger in the long wig. My reaction that day was “More power to you, Mom.”

Thank you. Enjoying your videos—I am 65 and always interested in dressing according to what works well for me. At 5’ 1”, a video focusing on petite clothing would be very helpful. It’s sometimes hard to find petite sizes that are not frumpy.

(Melanie here) Someone commenting on your legs being "too skinny" makes me so upset. Who is this mystery person who determined the size of your legs? Is there a body police out there - for women only, of course! That is so sexist. No-one would ever tell a man that he shouldn't wear shorts because his legs were too skinny. Sometimes, I think all these rules are to make women always feel self-conscious and negative about their bodies. Whether it's a comment from a male or another female, it is amazing that in this day and age that with the gains women have made in many areas, women are still "never allowed" to feel good about our bodies or appearance. I am thankful for your positive approach, Nada, and am so enjoying being in the Closet Confidence Facebook group.

I'm loving you. Growing old is a privilege. We are perfectly imperfect. Do what makes you happy and comfortable. I'm glad I found you. Xx

Nada, I think your hair is simply gorgeous! Never, ever, ever cut! It makes you who you are and is so stunningly beautiful! Also, your petite frame looks so pretty in those short skirt looks! Your legs have a graceful shape and your gamine manner works with them perfectly! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!

I’m sorry you’ve had those obviously ignorant comments. Your style is very inspiring.

If those haters know everything about fashion and what to wear at every age why on earth are they wasting their time watching your channel?

I’m 60 and still wear my hair long, wear shorts and short dresses (maybe not mini’s anymore-only bc I don’t want to worry if I bend over to pick up my dropped items😂. I wear skorts a lot❤. I also go braless bc I finally have more confidence, and my husband and daughter in their 20’s and 30’s say “go for it mom”. I admire woman who enjoy themselves and embrace their looks. And now my new mantra for dressing is “dress my energy not my age”. Love it-I think I have been feeling that way-but now I have a definition and saying for the feeling. Thank you. And as for the nay-sayers-don’t let them project their own issues on to you!❤ keep strong!

Nada, you're beautiful and you dress perfectly! I'm not surprised at the comments you're getting. Women can be so insecure and have archaic thinking because they can't wear the things you and I do. I feel amazing at almost 54 and look great in the clothes I choose to wear. I love sleeveless tops and dresses because like you, I don't have an issue with my arms. You're a rock star and I know you won't let ridiculous comments from jealous women make you change. xo

You are wonderful! Most of these "rules" were made by men to keep women in their place. We have been brainwashed since birth to dress for other people, namely our boyfriends/husband. Be pretty, be nice, be quiet. Serve others. Let's break this demeaning cycle and teach girls to be confident, authentic and happy! I love your content Nada, I am so glad I found you. MWAH.
