I know this was a while ago but my betta has what I suspect to be the beginning of columnaris. I have him on a kanaplex and nitrofuranzone treatment right now. I dont want to stop that treatment until complete, but this is a bath right? So I could have his regular hospital tank with kanamycin and nitrofuranzone, and then take him out and give him a bath? Only thing is stress I'm worried about. Also this has caused a secondary swim bladder issue. Also going to spot treat with methylene blue. I was also debating a small dose od aquarium salt to help with the swim bladder... but thats a lot of treatment. Really sucks when theres so many options but you dont know whatll work :( in your opinion what should I do?

Potassium Permanganate is a strong oxidising agent. It reacts with anything organic (containing carbon)...

Hi Cookie. Brand new betta with columnaris. Don't care about messing up the tank cycle and no other fish in tank. Okay to add PP to tank instead of baths to avoid stressing fish by moving him?

Norm - Is the PP dosed at 1 milligram or gram per 10 liters of water? You’ve said it both ways in the instructions so wanted to confirm. Perhaps you could write the dosing under the video? Also, how do you add garlic to food? Do you mean the garlicgard by Seachem or actually somehow chopping up fresh garlic and feeding it somehow? Thanks for the video - really helpful!

Potassium permanganate comes in different concentrations which can make it very difficult to dose. Most of what I’ve seen people just dose by color.

What if you can’t catch the fish to treat them? Just treat in tank? Will Potassium Permanganate affect your biological filtration?
