I bought this from Amazon US. It came well-packaged, double boxed and in pristine condition but 4 of the 7 records were severely warped, as in, like a potato chip! I immediately ordered a replacement from Amazon. It was delivered the next day and was the same: the majority of the records were severely warped. I would not have been able to cobble together one complete set without at least 2 badly warped records. They're both going back for a refund. $200 for a set that includes badly warped records is not acceptable to me. I would estimate that about 20% of my new record purchases have some manufacturing or handling defect that warrants return for replacement. Sometimes, as with this set the replacement is also defective. If it weren't for the "no hassle" return policy at Amazon and select online or Ebay vendors buying new vinyl without chance for inspection would not be worth the effort and risk.

Thank you very much for this! I was waiting for someone to talk about this release! I live in Mexico, so my copy hasn't arrived yet 😒. I was a little worried because Nick Cave has some terrible noisy recent vinyl releases (like Idiot Prayer or some reissues from his 2000s), although Carnage and Ghosteen were great. Thanks for the comment on this, I've been expecting this for years, still have my original CD from when part 1 was first released, but now I don't have any decent CD player.

Between you and the Norman Maslov review I was sold on this, had in my hand weekend before last, and .. passed on it. Not yet convinced a box set of the Bad Seeds, maybe change my mind. I did add The Boatman's Call and 'Junkyard' (never should have sold my original :-# )to my saved for later list... I am loving Carnage by Cave/Ellis.

Now at last a box set which has REAL value and meaning....just like Mr.Cave am willing to bet that Mr.Cave will be revered long after beetles and stones are merely an afterthought....nice one Michael..!!

TBH, I don't find Nick Cave's music enjoyable... like listening to someone who took too much Xanax and is trying to work through a Leonard Cohen tune. BUT I know he has some vehement fans and I do appreciate you bringing a wide variety of album releases to light. Thanks!
