How to Install a Playstation 3

You have dedicated yourself to the ultimate gaming experience, but are now faced with a tangle of unfamiliar cables. Don't panic.

Step 1: Set console near television and power outlet
Place the console near the television where a power outlet is easily accessible.

Tip
To protect your electrical equipment, use a surge protector.

Step 2: Connect AV cable to back of console
Connect the rectangular end of the AV cable to the back of the console in the slot marked AV MULTI OUT.

Tip
An HDMI cable offers the best picture but is expensive.

Step 3: Connect other end of AV cable to back of TV
Connect the other end of the AV cable to the back of the television by matching the correct color connector to each input: red to red, yellow to yellow, white to white.

Step 4: Connect power cord to console and then into outlet
Connect the power cord to the back of the console to the 3-prong slot marked AC IN and then into the electrical outlet or surge protector.

Step 5: Turn on the console’s main power switch
Flip the main power switch, located just above the power cord on the back of the console, to the "on" position. The red indicator light should come on.

Step 6: Turn on TV and console
Turn on the television and then press the power button on the front of the game console.

Step 7: Follow on-screen instructions to complete set-up
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the system's set-up. You are now ready to play your friends and family in head-to-head combat. Game on, player. Game on.

For some of you that didn't have the right AV colour input just put the one that matches the colour and the others tou can test .. same like me i dont have the right / same colour av inputs but i try in every input and it is sucsessfull

That may be true but im not positive...my brother has tried a variety of cables and said they are all the same in sound and appearance because it essentially just comes down to one cheap wire (or group of wires, whatever makes it up)

Everybody listen no need of anything just connect HDMI and Wifi and join playstation cable into switch and turn on your TV and go on source from remort and its done but don't forget to turn on playstation button before turning on the TV

My tv doesn’t have a yellow AV “hole.” It’s something like pink white red green blue. And then there is no PS3 Input selection option and- as my old tv was it used to be you like the channel button down once below channel 1 and like that you get the ps3 menu. I can’t reach the menu...

You don't need RCA cables to plug in a PlayStation 3, unless if you want low quality gameplay. But you only need a power plug and a HDMI cable and it will show up a PS3 screen :)
