My guess is that the Falcons not only don't want to put themselves in a position like they did with Matt Ryan where they traded him without having a true replacement for him. Also keep in mind that if they have a better record this year they'll be picking farther down the draft board next year and no telling what kind of draft capital they're going to lose from the tampering punishment.
