Visual field testing, glaucoma, field of vision - A State of Sight #31

Automated visual field testing can give valuable information in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, optic nerve disorders, and other eye and brain problems that can affect vision. In this episode of A State of Sight, Isaac Porter, MD explains how a visual test is performed from the patient perspective and how this is interpreted. During the test, each eye is tested separately, and lights of varying brightness are displayed in the peripheral vision. The patient will press a button when they see the light and the information will be processed by a computer to determine the extent of their visual field.

I've had visual field many times. It can be annoying because my left eye always moves around when it's tested and that's the bad I that I have with glaucoma. I almost fell asleep during my visual field!

I had a visual field test at the optometrists and wasn't sure if I was to click the button just when the green lights flashed brightly or to click if I saw the dimmer lights. Could you advise me. Thank you.

i am 44 year old diagnosis: narrow angles my visual fields test do perhaps suggest an early left eye superior scotoma and a full right visual field.doctor not give me any medicine what i do

I'm 24 an I have glaucoma in both eyes. I'm on 4 eye drops too.

Recently diagnosed IIH.My left eye is blureed due to IIH.VISUAL FIELD TEST is DONE SCORED 96%.after one month also my left eye blurred problem is not resolved.ALSO CSR DECREASED AFTER 3 WEEKS .BUT VISION IS NOT CLEAR.please advise.my left eye is okay with this symptoms.please advise.thank you
