Kurt Angle On The In-Ring Intensity Of Chris Benoit

Показать описание
Kurt Angle is a 14-time professional wrestling world champion, with titles collected in WWE, TNA, and Japan. He is in both the WWE and TNA/Impact Hall of Fames, a two-time NCAA Division 1 National Champion, and has also won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Games with, as he likes to say, ‘a broken freaking neck.’ At every stop in his career, Angle has reached the top of the mountain, and now he’s taking his Three I’s; Intensity, Intelligence, and Integrity, to the podcast world as he joins host Paul Bromwell to take a look back at some of the matches, feuds and moments that turned an Olympic gold medalist into one of the greatest sports entertainers of all time. It’s True. It’s damn true

I’d say I’m privileged to be old enough to have watched Chris Benoit wrestle. He was truly like no other. The guy knew pro wrestling inside out. Every match he was in felt like it was life or death.

Chris Benoit is arguably Kurt Angle's greatest opponent ever in the ring.

Such a shame. Benoit is top 3 in-ring of all time. Never a wasted movement. He perfected every style of wrestling

Nobody brought intensity quiet like Chris Benoit, had he not did what he done. Well he would’ve been the goat hands down, but such is life.

Their matches used to scare me with so much wrestling intensity. Their matches are the closest we'd ever get to see Bret vs Kurt. A gold medalist vs a dungeon graduate with beautiful mat game.

Kurt likes the Big Eagle Belt. Niiice. He's held some of the best looking championships over the years.

While Kurt doesn't really need Benoit to have a great catalogue of some of wrestling's best matches, it is still a shame that Benoit's body of work is forever blacklisted, because his matches with Angle in particular might be Angle's best, my personal favorite is still his match with HBK in WM21, but Angle vs Benoit in RR 2003 sure gives it a run for its money.

Benoit had the best German suplexes. He could land 10 in a row & you'd land soft as a pillow but they looked *hard*

I'm glad we're at a point where people can comfortably talk about Benoit in the context of his work in the ring. The guy committed a horrible act but has touched and influenced the careers of so many people. I doubt Jericho's WWE career would have taken off as well as it did without his intense on/off feud with Benoit, and the matches he had with Angle brought about the first signs of change in the main event from the big muscled talents to small, quicker technical workers.

Benoit v Angle at Royal Rumble 2003 is my second match of all time; my first is Bret v Owen at Wrestlemania X ❤️

Watched a lot of WWF/WWE as a kid. Got really into the Benoit story, pre-rumble until he ruined everything.

As an adult it's nice to know that Benoit was a good worker as well as that underdog story.

Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit was the best wrestling I've ever seen to this day, nobody had better chemistry in my opinion. Greatness every single time I'm actually gonna watch some back shortly
Edit: every other comment mentions how Benoit ruined his legacy or whatever - we get it, you're not breaking news to us. Let's talk about the wrestling matches, like the point of this video.

Having a torn miniscus sucks. When it catches and you can't straighten your leg it's hell.

When he mentioned Chris Benoit's stiff chops, I said oh yeah, cause not only they're stiff, you can hear the chops every time, and I always think about how he chopped ric flair's chest to blood
