Kurt Angles thing was that he was a legitimate badass who could make pretty much anyone aside from maybe Brock tap in under a minute.

He knew that and we knew that, so he could be as goofy and crazy as he wanted to be, but no push, storyline, gimmick or theatrical could ever take away from his actual skills on that mat. So he committed wholesale to any and all gimmicks asked of him. Hence comes the bestiality sex with Sharmell and the Double Fisting Milk Salute and everything and anything that came before and after.

Brock got over because of his size making him look legit, gable is got over only recently through hard work and great character build, Shelton never got as over despite his amazing talent. Kurt got over because he was legit and he understood the business pretty early on which a lot of amateur wrestling don’t seem to get till later in their career. he was the total package and we’ll be lucky to have someone similar to him in the future
