Run from WFX, out of Oklahoma City. Scandalous company! I’m glad to here that someone is stepping up to stop this criminal behavior to drivers

silver Trucking LLC
Hired a group of drivers
One guy chose company
every one else chose lease purchase
the last man standing was company driver
The other drivers quit and lost money
The turn over rate is insane

Lease purchases. Extremely well explained. No sugar coating, just the facts. No excuse for anyone to get scammed now!
(anyway, ... you know it's a scam when they keep calling you almost begging you to come aboard.)

Lease purchase is one of the biggest scam in the trucking industry, sadly most new truck drivers fall for it and my dad fell for that scam since he didn’t know any better back then… hopefully drivers are better informed thanks to videos like this❤

Let's think positive. Only 95% of them are rip-offs.

I paid payments on a lease purchase truck and trailer for 5 years before paying them off. I took home way more money than an employee driver and spent more time at home than one. It's not about the number of miles per week. It's about revenue per mile, and getting paid a good percentage by a good company. Unfortunately, a good company to lease o to is hard to find. If the company pays by the mile or if they don't allow you to see the rate confirmation provided by the shipper or broker, or if they forbid you to comminicate directly with the shipper or broker, don't even bother with that company.

In 1940, George Raft and Humphrey Bogart did a movie called, "They Drive By Night". Other than it's over 80 yrs old, the issues facing truck drivers and O/O wannabes hasn't changed much at all!! I started driving for a living in '78 and I well remember the beginnings of "flece" purchase when suddenly all the big carriers jumped on that particular band wagon. I hate seeing the Feds having to get involved, on one hand. But on the other, it has been a long time in coming. The industry didn't just shoot itself in one foot. It did so in both feet, and then bled all over the damn place! I grew up such a nice boy. It wasn't until I got involved with trucking that I saw so much back stabbing going on... as well as the very best of humanity. In my not so very humble... and exhausted experience (now retired) oversight is probably just what the doctor ordered, albeit late to the party. Thank you Miranda for staying on top of things. 😊

My cousin almost got scammed by a lease co in Enid OK… they got drivers leased on the same truck and before the lead was up they made it do hard for the Leasee to miss one payment this was the reason to cancel the lease and keep the truck themselves…. I advised my cousin the turn in the truck after one year making payments and drive to California and pick up my brother’s 99 Coronado, Series 60 CARB non compliant in California… he did and he is running it hauling crude oil and he is super happy with it…sometimes an old reliable truck is all you need. Thanks for sharing this video!!

I know a guy who was starved out on the last year. It was a Peterbilt 389. And it was in 2922. When used truck prices skyrocketed.
So the truck in question was worth almost what it was worth new at the time. The driver had like 100k equity in it. And they pulled the rug.

I own my truck and am leased on to CRST flatbed. I’m not a fan of lease purchase programs but at CRST flatbed you are not dispatched. You have access to their loadboard and they have agents all over the country getting loads. I can also book loads on the spot market as long as it’s an approved broker. So here at least you are the captain of your ship as far as loads go.

Crete Carrier is one of the few good lease purchase programs I’ve seen. Also something to remember about leases is that 100% of your lease payment is tax deductible.

Miranda I love how you give the info and have an opinion but do your best to keep the message as unbiased as possible

I've only been driving about 8yrs. However, I learned enough early on that the lease "purchase" programs were a huge NO! Also, leasing on to a carrier. One guy leased onto a company, and at some point they failed to come up with any loads for almost 3 weeks. He finally went and got his own loads. While he was out over the road, they called yelling that he's supposed to be exclusive to them! Lol

I appreciate your straightforward videos. Very detailed and sourced. No excessive bloviating or doom and gloom projection. Thank you.

You forgot to mention as soon as you sign the lease purchase program the guy who sold you that lease just made $15, 000

What she is saying is 100% correct. These two companies, I worked for at Werner, crushed my dreams. Whatever they told me was a lie as far as what I was going to make.
