Student Population Changes in Montgomery County Public Schools

Enrollment in Montgomery County Public County Public Schools (MCPS) is expected to reach a record-high of 159,242 students this school year, according to a new report by James Song, director of facilities management for MCPS.

Another trend discussed at this meeting was the change in demographics within the school system. For the first time since tracking student enrollment began in 2007, the number of Hispanic students surpasses the number of White students in MCPS.
