European Garden Spider (Araneus diadematus )

I found this European garden spider catching flies in its web then wrapping them in silk and digesting them.
The Europian Garden spider goes by many other names including the diadem spider, cross spider, or crowned orb weaver.
It is by far the most common orb web spider in the UK as it is found in a wide variety of habitats including gardens, woodland and grassland
This spider can be easily identified as a result of the distinctive white cross on its abdomen

I had one of these beauties in my back porch since I moved into my new condo for a whole month. It kept mosquitos away. I loved this spider, I saw something special in it and now I just found it dead on the ground with its legs crossed together. Any thoughts on what might of happened? Maybe it starved?! Rip❤💯
