Their criteria for youtubers is honestly ridiculous. They don’t even bother telling you the criteria and just tell you not to bother instead. I bet it’s something dumb like whether or not they’ve overheard their kids talk about that person. Strange how a website that was once the forefront of a new way of thinking is rejecting the modern concept of notability. There were seriously people on that rejected list who are more notable than a lot of wiki pages combined will ever be.

Also they themselves state notability rules are for pages/lists and not content, therefore youtubers should be allowed to be on notable residents/alumni lists on Wikipedia. They would have a different criteria. Do you really think that guy with 3 million subscribers isn’t the best thing that came out of your small town in the middle of nowhere Brenda?

So according to wikipedia, a guy from Bishop Auckland that invented something is more important than a pretty well known youtuber.

It sounds like they genuinely need to update the terms to be added. People look up things current and new and thats what youtubers are. More people want to know about youtubers than the guy that invented something.

I used to work as a volunteer on wikiHow, a different and more weird website. I can say this much: repeated vandalism on an article is very annoying to rollback, as you have to just repeatedly rollback the edits over and over again while telling the vandaliser a warning (basically to get the crap off of the website but in a nice way). It does get very annoying for us to have to revert the edits over and over. However, the edits can be pretty funny sometimes, and I do have some personal favorites from when I was on the site. :)

Wiki mods tend to get butthurt pretty quickly, and are known to power trip pretty hard. The Ajit Pai incident was a great example. Such is life.

The vandalism was bad, definitely, but it's hardly Jack's fault for that. :/

Also, umm... There are Wikipedia's for each of Genghis Khan's first dozen wives (individuals that I SERIOUSLY doubt pop up for any but the most extreme of limited cases), so I mean I think the mods are just too slow to accept online personalities as important people.
