ADA TV stopped by a session where ADA’s Pathway to Stop Diabetes funded researchers presented their exciting research. We spoke to former mentor advisory group chair Ronald C. Kahn, as well as researchers Wolfgang Peti (Professor of Chemistry & Biochemisty, University of Arizona) who’s looking at enzymes that affect the insulin receptor pathway; Stephen Parker PhD (Assistant Professor, Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics, and Human Genetics, University of Michigan) looking at the genetics of type 2 diabetes; and Sumita Pennathur, PhD (Professor, Mechanical Engineering, University of California, Santa Barbara) a mechanical engineer who took her expertise in Biosensors to help her daughter who was diagnosed with Type 1.
