Mi teoría es que probablemente siguen sufriendo del efecto alucinógeno del hongo rojo, porque no por nada sonó el "tang" que siempre suena cuando alguno de los personajes es estimulado por la alucinación.

Siendo así otra añadidura a mi teoría que, como vimos antes, Steve dentro de una alucinación llegó a tomar leche pero, no salía de la alucinación. Y también debemos recordar que la antorcha de Sol realmente nunca existió (porque un Steve usó el Sol como antorcha en el mundo alucinógeno), ver que no hay un Sol ahí arriba significa que siguen en ese mundo irreal
Quizás el zombie que vimos anteriormente se encargue de alguna manera de curarlos mediante quitarles toda la vida para que presionen el botón de respawn o haga el trabajote de las guías de Not Safe y consiga hierro, haga la cubeta, recolecte leche y cure a nuestros protagonistas.

No creo que este sea el final del arco de los hongos malignos, porque sino no veríamos la importancia de aquel zombie (que será a elección de Not Safe usarlo o no) y dejaría muchos cabos sueltos.
