Gibson 2016 SG Faded Series T

The 2016 SG Faded T is offered this year with powerful pickups and time-tested hardware. This is a guitar that any SG fan would love to own.

It comes in a choice of worn satin nitro finishes, all beautifully faded for a timeless look. The construction uses the same materials as its predecessor of fifty years ago with a solid mahogany body and set mahogany neck.

The neck marks the return to Gibson’s traditional neck width that players prefer, using a self-lubricating Graph Tech nut for better sustain and improved intonation. The rosewood fingerboard is thicker than last year’s, offering a more solid playing feel, traditional tone and better sustain.

Electronics feature Alnico-powered 490 R neck and 490 T bridge pickups that produce everything from warmth to sizzling leads.

Chrome hardware includes a tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, and traditional manual tuners that add a vintage note, but with performance that is smooth and efficient. The 2016 SG Faded Series T comes setup by factory experts and includes a padded gig bag.

I have this guitar is brown. Total workhorse. Don’t listen to the negative comments. Everything about this guitar is great. Sure you will have to tweak it to your liking but this guitar is a serious value for a Gibson. I may get another one in the cherry.

I still got my cherry red faded t. It's got some scratches and some dents but that's what builds character on a guitar. I will not trade it for any other guitar.

I actually like SGs better than LPs. Something about the sound that stands out, very aggressive.

Congratulations on this chanel being the first one on doing these videos

for those who never owned a faded series these are scratch and dent magnets since it is straight Satin I own a 2006 model.

I'm looking to buy my first SG. Im deciding between The special T and the faded (2016). The only major difference for me is the pickups. Can someone explain the differences between the Mini Humbuckers and 490r 490t combo that comes with faded model? I want to be able to get a chunky sound when I need it.

These guitars are the best value in 2016, sound ALMOST as good as the 'SG' STANDARD T's @
Got this guitar in 'WORN CHERRY' new @ GC on-sale $575 out-the-door, AWRIGHT! !
Took the $235 I saved and modded it out w/BIGSBY B3 Tremolo System (no holes drilled thanks to 'TOWNER TENSION BAR'), 'SG' Truss Rod Cover, CHROME Pickup covers, Silver Capped Volume/Tone I could show you what it looks/sounds like NOW....BAD-A$$ !!!

Will Gibson once again offer a left-hand version of their SG Standard models? The last time was in the 2013 model year and I'm hoping they stop being so rude to us left handers.

What would be better: Gibson 16 standard SG T, SD special t, or SG faded T?

I'm holding one in my hands right now. Not to impressed with the set up, it's supposedly set up by the "masters" but its a little buzzy up past the 12th fret. It sounds great plugged in I can't lie about that, but playing clean that buzz really echoes. Nothing I can't fix though, and what's with the shitty machine heads.. I liked the klusons more than these crap Gibson deluxe.. Strike a deal with Grover or Spertzel already.. And the "vintage" color of the buttons is like a super shitty green color. Changed those to a set of black satin Grovers immediately aswell as the knobs, cheap plastic doesn't really get my off.. Lastly I don't mind the enlarged aluminum strap pins but they should really be Shallers locking by now.

Mine came with the G force auto tuners. They suck . And mine has a Titanium nut. I puty grovers on it. now it is in the shop being setup. The intonation was crap.
