As I have said, I've cleaned windows for a long time. Gutter cleaning has always been right there with it, every fall, and some in between. For my first 6 years it was hand picking and trash bags only. So ten years ago I was introduced to my first gutter tool, the spoon. Looked like a big plastic soup spoon lol. After some trial and era with the new tool I found the best technique. With the spoon on the end of my tri pool I will reach pretty far with the spoon facing up. Then I will slide the spoon under the gutter brackets sliding the spoon atop of the debris. I can go under a stretch of 4 to 5 brackets at a time, depending on how full the gutters are. Once I've gotten as far as I can I simple turn the spoon over lifting up on my pole a bit, and pull the debris back under the brackets to me. So, 6 years ago the company I was working for said Nate the spoon is great, but check this out. I was intrigued. It was the tool you have in this video. He told me how the tool worked, how it operated to my advantage. So I tried it for a while. I just stopped using my beloved spoon lol. Here in Ohio we deal with very full gutters in the fall. I tried so hard for this new tool to be quicker and more efficient than the spoon, because I was told it would be. I couldn't manipulate or bend this tool. It was too big, and heavier on the end of my pool. The flipping it back and forth trying to shove the stuck debris I was pulling and pushing under the brackets. It quickly proved to be harder to work with. One day I throw it down and went to the van to get my spoon and could not find them! (Damn employees) lol. So my next great idea was that L shaped square Piece on the new tool. I cut that shit off with a small hand saw lol trying to make it like my spoon. That shape still made it not work. It's only been the spoon ever since. I have a friend that does swear on the tool, but he's wrong man lol. Both of these tools still make that job take forever though. One is only a little better than the other. So if ya can safely just jump up on the roof, save yourself some time and strength. Trial and area can be a beautiful thing. If this seems to detailed don't ask me about windows. There are 200 hundred years of different designs there. : )

I’ll take my husqvarna blower. Best gutter cleaning tool out there under most circumstances. Otherwise I use that same tool when roof pitches are to trippy 😬to walk on.

I just bought the Gutterpro Vac which for Gutters is amazing without the ladders. But this is a great tool if you need ladders!

Ok you put that gutter scoop tool on your video here. So, how do I get one...I don't see a link or anything on how to actually get one of these.

Hey any thoughts on a pressure washing extension wand with a hook on the end to clean out gutters?

Hey i was just wondering about how the insurance side of things works. Are you insured? And if not do people ask you often if you are?

Grandma used Grandpa’s cane to clean the gutters after he fell off the roof and exploded his colostomy bag.

Hey mike, you should look at getting ladder stabilizers, either the werner or the Louisville ones are great. less than $40 for a tool that will make you ladders so much more stable on roofs, with a ladder stabilizer sort of hooked onto the roof, could practically jump on a ladder at no risk. just a lot safer and for basically no money. Once you use one, you'll never want to go back to a normal ladder.

Where is the link to the gutter tool in the video?

Hmm, a *secret* gutter tool that only a select few know how to find.

Guess I'll stay with my extension ladder NOT laid against the gutters as shown, but uses a ladder stabilizer resting on the roof to keep the ladder off the gutters, and continue to use my cordless Ryobi 40V 525CFM blower also useful for many other uses. I don't like wearing the shingles by walking on them if I can reach up to the gutters with an extension ladder, but NOT have it lay against the gutters. Yeah, more ladder moves and hiking up and down the ladder, but I'm cleaning my gutters, not in business doing it lots of times.

My old B&D blower had a long extension tube (2 piece), and a hook end that pivots to change the angle. Was great at blowing out the gutters without having to use a ladder (for 1-story house). The double pivoting head made it easy to adjust the angle, and the small end (that helped to accelerate the air flow) fit under the gutter hangers. Alas, that blower died, and the tube extension didn't fit any new ones. It was corded, but not having to hike up and down the ladder more than compensated for the nuisance of cord management. A problem with that setup was you are underneath the area getting blown out. If it's wet, mucky, or otherwise gross, some of that is landing on you.

Was thinking of getting a water sprayer with a hook end on an extension tube that hooks to the water faucet. Nope, if a plug doesn't move, the junk and water overflows the gutter, and you end up having to remove the plugging mass by hand which soaking wet. Blower works much faster, cleaner, and easier.

There are times the blower won't budge a plugged mass in the gutter. I have to use a scoop tool (square to fit inside the gutter profile). I usually wait until it's been dry for a week, so the packed mass is lighter, and the blower can blow it out.

I've see where some folks use a shop vac with long tube with bent end to vacuum out the gutters. Vacuumed gutters never looked as clean as when I blow out the gutters.

Few Things I want to point out.... Ladder placement on Gutter is WRONG, also Hanging anything on a Gutter Voids all warranties. Throwing debris in the yard is a NONO.. Please show folks the correct way.
