The Energy Innovation X-Change conference returned again in 2021 with an online format and sensational line-up of speakers across two days, 15-16 September. The event was presented by the Australian Alliance for Energy Productivity (A2EP) with support from conference partner, RACE for 2030.
After a welcome from A2EP CEO, Jarrod Leak, and RACE for 2030 CEO, Jon Jutsen, the opening address was delivered by the Hon. Matt Kean, NSW Minister for Energy and Environment.
Then the first session, Energy productivity - the net zero advantage, began. Taking an energy productivity-focussed approach to energy management is an important part of a net zero pathway. The industry leaders in this session presented three ways this can be achieved: via a precinct approach, by incorporating energy management right through your company, and by knowing how to utilise emerging fuels.
Our presenters were:
- Dr Fiona Simon, CEO of the Australian Hydrogen Council
- Heidi Lee, CEO of Beyond Zero Emissions, and
- Dr Mary Stewart, CEO of Energetics.
Following these presentations and Q&A from the audience, the conference split into two concurrent streams of presentations, one from A2EP looking at innovations being implemented right now, and another stream from RACE for 2030 looking at the innovations that need to be developed for implementation in the future to continue the decarbonisation journey.
