On 10 April 1999, Elizabeth Taylor entertained a press-packed room at the Dorchester Hotel in London. During the 40-minute press conference, Liz Taylor – considered one of the most beautiful women in the history of Hollywood – was asked whether she believed beauty came with a curse. Her answer was equal parts funny, wise, and uplifting. A true icon.

So talented, yet so modest. Liz was a genuine star and sweetheart. Her acts of kindness to others were legendary.

Elizabeth never seemed conceited at all. That made her very admirable. She seemed down to earth.

So very true, & something generations after her never really accepted with the enormous amounts of plastic surgery & how normalised it’s now become. Wear your laughter lines & wrinkles with pride, each & every one of them tell a story. Grow old gracefully.

She knew this because she came from an era where you had to have a CLEARLY IDENTIFIABLE TALENT to be famous and on screen.

Yes, said the one who became internationally famous because of her beauty.

She understood to use it, she is right but its her work to make people belive beauty has a value

And she's absolutely right too. Your looks can be gone in a split second irrevocably. Your looks are outside. It's a facade. It's what's inside that counts. Basing your worth on appearance is shallow.

Miss Taylor. She was FUN. Read that Princess Margaret, on seeing Taylor's MASSIVE Ice Cube Diamond the Krupp, remarked "How VULGAR!" "Wanna try it on?" asked Taylor. As Maggie held her hand up admiring how the rock looked on her finger Taylor said "Doesnt look so vulgar now, does it!"

Exactly. Except for as far as it "meaning nothing, " she literally was made famous for her beauty, so, clearly it meant something to everyone else.

Beauty can be a curse. Liz was very protected from most of the dark side of extreme beauty.

She would laugh at today's social media generation with the BBLs & the Kartrashians. Her & Zsa Zsa were a different breed & while I think Gabor probably dabbled in a facelift & a nose job in her later years, Liz DGAF.

So she was actually saying beauty is a curse

Jesus is coming back. Believe He died for your sins and rose again then repent to be saved.
