I just hope they bring some actual functionality to the dynamic island. I don't want it to be some gimmick, or at least.. less of a gimmick. Best case scenario they'll take proper advantage of the dynamic island after releasing the 15 pros later in September.

Currently on iOS 16.4.1 I won’t be upgrading into iOS 17 comes out. I’m done with iOS 16. I’m ready for iOS 17 instability with iOS 17 no more horrendous bugs please

I’m feeling that Reddit sees Apollo as a threat. If you’re gearing up for an IPO, you’d want all versions of your product to be perceived as a dominant force which I don’t think is the current case for Reddit for iOS.

There are so many users who prefer Apollo over Reddit’s native app, for good reason, so providing more outrageous API pricing than Twitter (insane) is likely a shot at improving the number of daily active users for Reddit’s iOS app prior to the inception of their IPO.

I could see this changing down the line post IPO with a strong valuation through either cheaper API pricing or the less likely option of an acquisition of Apollo.

It’s a tough time for indie devs when it really shouldn’t and doesn’t need to be

$500 vs $3, 000 - so no humilation at all. They're not even in the same ballpark, and Apple did this for that purpose only. It's like comparing a Mustang Shelby GT to a Mustang base model.

4000 nits seems way too bright for screens so close to your eyes… unless it has an AR functionality, maybe?

You’re wrong on nits of other headsets. The specs you give are for visible nits. The Apple headset will not deliver anywhere near 5000 nits because pancake lenses reduce the brightness by about 85%. So, the delivered brightness will be closer to 500-750. Still brighter than the others you mention, but it definitely won’t be 5000 vs 300.

And yes-I’m buying 2 Apple headsets.

not really sure why you are trying to compare a $500 consumer VR headset (Quest3) with a presumably much more expensive AR headset. Seems a bit like trying to compare a mac mini with a studio. They aren't really competitors in the same market segment.
