Welcoming the Class of 2026 to Harvard Business School

The Harvard Business School Class of 2026 has arrived on campus to begin their two-year MBA experience. Dean Srikant Datar; Jana Kierstead, executive director of the MBA and Doctoral programs and External Relations; Professor Matthew Weinzierl, senior associate dean and chair of the MBA Program; and Student Association co-presidents Hayden Tanabe and Taylor Walden welcomed students with an invitation to work together and learn from each other, to find balance, and to engage in the discussion, deliberation, and debate that is central to the case method of teaching and learning.

I am from India and unfortunately, I did not perform well in my 12th standard, scoring only 59%. I have a significant career gap of over five years, during which I attempted to build a startup. However, my venture failed due to a lack of planning, awareness, and mentorship.

Given my background, I am concerned about my eligibility for prestigious institutions like Harvard University. I am eager to start afresh and learn from the best. Previously, I was unaware of the substantial difference between average and top-tier colleges.

Is there any possibility for someone with my background to gain admission to Harvard? I understand that I may not meet the typical eligibility criteria, but any guidance would be greatly appreciated as I am determined to prepare thoroughly for this opportunity.
