Gonzaga's Anton Watson declares for 2023 NBA Draft | Hunter Sallis transfers to Wake Forest

Gonzaga Bulldogs forward Anton Watson is among the five Zags who declared early for the 2023 NBA draft, joining Drew Timme, Julian Strawther, Malachi Smith, and Steele Venters. We look at reasons why Watson should return to Spokane, even after Mark Few's team added Graham Ike, and why it makes sense for him to go through the draft process and hear from scouts and analysts.

We then discuss the other four NBA draft entrants and give odds on whether they will be back in Spokane next season or if they will remain in the draft process and what that could look like for each of them.

We close out the show discussing Hunter Sallis transferring to Wake Forest, where he will play under Steve Forbes. Bit surprised creighton didn't at least show some interest in sallis....being a school in his home state of Nebraska, and far superior bb program than cornhuskers. Hopefully he will get more playing time in winston-salem.

Coming back, Anton would have a hard time sharing playing time with new incoming class? I think Anton Watson would have better playing time overseas to continue his talent skills and growth. Just my opinion, I could be wrong?

Smith would provide much needed senior leadership on next year's roster. He was BEST guard of the group last year! Smith could solidify himself as an elite 3 point shooter next season, with nembhard spacing the floor and creating more open looks for him.

I can't imagine venters not being on zags roster next season....don't think few and his staff would've reached out to him if they thought he wouldn't be available.

I believe Hunter Sallis would have had a much bigger role if he had stayed with the Zags but I think we will be just fine without him and I hope he has an amazing year with Wake Forrest!

He's a good defensive player but I highly doubt he gets drafted & hopefully all 5 Zags players don't come back because it messes up it for the players in the transfer portal plus other players that want a chance to play this season not sit on the bench because of the stubborn Coach Mark Few doesn't use a bigger rotation instead of just 7-8 players rather have a deeper bench with rotation players like 10-12 especially if starters have a bad night with scoring on offense

I think Anton should stay. Where he ends up is crapshoot. Right now he’s at a place that can appreciate and develop his game…to be made into a more attractive draft pick. Sometimes players like him end up going nowhere but the bench in the NBA.
