I was convinced arch was the way to go before this, but this tool just confirms it further for me. Thanks for spreading the message about it!

Basic command prefixes:
$ is for a command to be executed in the userland.
# is a command to be executed with elevated privileges (aka root / sudo).

$ = user, # = root. If you use bash for your shell you'll see it

I first learned about the Chaotic AUR when testing Garuda Linux. Interesting package source and worth checking out.

The # symbol is also the root prompt, so its telling you to run with root or sudo

Not at all what I thought it would be, pretty cool.

Matt, you can install nix on any Linux distro and get access to the MASSIVE nix repos, exclusively containing binaries and including things like ungoogled-chromium. These repos are used by some corporations, btw, since nix is popular in server infrastructure.
There's an Arch wiki article on nix, and it'd be nice to see some coverage on this extremely underrated trick.

Chaotic-AUR is neat - found it from Garuda and then used it on Fedora via Junest to get around some issues with building AUR packages on Junest. The package shows up in Pamac too (though, where you usually sees (community) it'll show (chaotic-aur). Though ungoogled chromium does have a flatpak package yeah? Sure, that has native host messaging issue because flatpak, but it works.

I have used chaotic aur before, but I did not know that you can simply use pacman to download packages from there. I just assumed you needed an aur helper. Neat!

# sign in the terminal command indicates 'run as root' as can be seen after doing 'sudo -i'

I recently had Garuda Linux installed, it comes with the Chaotic AUR. I have 3 drives: 1 for Windows and 2 for Linux. The other Linux distro is Manjaro KDE. So, I had 2 Linux drives with an Arch--based Linux distro and neither of them were Arch, so I installed Eneavour OS KDE (Arch) over the drive that had Garuda on it so that I could have Arch and Manjaro in case Arch breaks itself and cannot be recovered.
