George S. Beebe is the Director of Grand Stategy at the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft. He previously served as the Vice President and Director of Studies at the Center for the National Interest, a non-partisan thinktank in Washington, D.C. He served in the US government for nearly twenty-five years, including as director of Russia analysis at CIA and as a White House adviser on Russia matters for Vice President Dick Cheney. He lives in northern Virginia.

It’s amazing to hear that there are still people left with common sense. People who know and understands Russia. But for some reason they only gain this common sense when they retire. There are not anymore people left or very few left I should say who really studied Russia and can analyze current situation.

The only thing i disagree with is when he talks about the western Europeans. On paper they might have better weapons, (maybe not - Russia has hypersonic missiles). But also i really dont think the west Europeans with their population decline and internal problems with crime and migrants want to send their one son off to fight Russia who then comes home in a box.
