They hate the difference in how free speech is treated in Europe and the USA. In Europe, free speech is often framed as a balance between freedom of expression and protecting individuals from harm. This includes laws against hate speech, Holocaust denial, and speech that incites violence or discrimination. The idea is to ensure that speech doesn’t cause harm to vulnerable groups or society as a whole.

On the other hand, in the USA, there is a much stronger emphasis on protecting the right to free speech, even if it means allowing harmful speech, lies, and discrimination. People are often allowed to express whatever they want, regardless of how it might hurt others, and it is defended as an essential right. This has led to concerns that powerful figures, like wealthy elites, use free speech protections to promote harmful rhetoric, scapegoat immigrants, and spread hate.

The issue isn't just about free speech itself, but how it is manipulated by those in power, which can lead to more harm and division. It often feels like a system where the wealthy and powerful can use free speech to push dangerous narratives under the guise of "freedom."

Thus the USA cannot so easily spread the lies and disinformation in Europe, and they hate that.

They are frightened by the "socialism" of certain European countries: Switzerland, Scandinavia, much higher standard of living. They are afraid that US citizens will learn that one doesn't have to lose the house to medical bills.

I have always loved England and Europe. It's so horrible what my government is doing to our relationships with allies. 😔 I feel so grateful to have traveled to so many countries so I am not an ignorant bigot.

The more I am listening and watching these things unfold in the USA and the behavior from the government, it reminds me of something:
The coercive, controlling boyfriend/husband who wants to isolate and control his girlfriend. This is a scenario I had happen in my social circle (more than once): The guy (here the US regime) wants to make the girl/woman obey and be exclusively there to serve him. He talks very badly about her social circle (here Europe), spies on her phone, gets violent when she expresses interest in her freedoms.
I do kind of think, that the USA is being kept hostage in a violent relationship with their government. I am just very afraid, she might be one of those who, after a night at the hospital goes back to her abuser :-((

The US has never fought a war on its own (except against the Spanish) but never gives credit to its allies. Even now they do not recognise that the UK carried out bombing strikes and naval operations against the Houthis.

The anti-UK and anti-Europe hatred isn't limited to folks like JD Vance and Pete Hegseth. Earlier today, Mega MAGA Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene told a British reporter to go back to her country and refused to answer her question.
