Kaplan MT tanks were delivered to the Indonesian

Indonesian Armed Forces received the first 10 Kaplan MT tanks in the joint project of PT Pindad and FNSS on February 28, 2024. KAPLAN MT had successfully completed the endurance and shooting tests carried out in Turkey and Indonesia during the prototype period. With the entry into force of KAPLAN MT's joint production agreement signed at the 2019 IDEF fair, mass production works were started at FNSS facilities. The cost of the first batch contract signed for the supply of “Harimau” (KAPLAN MT), jointly developed by FNSS-PT Pindad companies, to the Indonesian army is 135 million dollars.

In the statement made by the Indonesian company PT Pindad (Persero), it was announced that the shooting tests of the Kaplan MT middle class jewelry were carried out at the Infantry Training Center of TNI AD Cipatat on 24-25 February 2022. The firing tests carried out in this context are one of the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). The purpose of the firing test activity is to determine the condition of the turret with a 105-millimeter gun, to meet the requirements and to determine the capabilities of various improvements made in accordance with the latest design features.

Kaplan MT is a project in which FNSS from Turkey is a partner. It is also one of the state's 7 strategic development programs aimed at increasing Indonesia's capability in domestic defense industry products. With the cooperation between Pindad and FNSS, knowledge, experience and company competence at international standards were gained in tank development.
