When I walk in the forest and near the water... I take time to sit and imagine that once there were Natives canoeing, chipping away at stones to make points, creating pottery, burning a fire…a sadness is there but a sense of peace and wonder take over me. I am me at this moment. I thank those who had once inhabited these lands and recognize the sacredness of Mother Nature. Next time I go, I will listen to this…thank you.
