Nikon D7000 Shutter Sounds + Quiet Shutter

In this video, I explore the various shutter sounds of the Nikon D7000, especially the new quiet shutter mode.

This video demonstrates the S single shot mode, the CL (continuous, low speed) mode, the CH (continuous, high speed) mode, and the Q (Quiet shutter) mode.

@Ncode3 - In quiet mode, it's not the shutter that's open while the button remains pressed, it's the mirror. If the shutter were to be open the entire time, you'd pretty much be shooting in bulb mode. Supposedly you get sharper images with delayed mirror release because it keeps the camera from shaking when the mirror drops again.

The shutter doesn't stay open when you hold the release in Quiet Mode; the mirror stays up.

The Q won't keep the shutter open mate, the mirror will stay up while you're holding the shutter-release botten. Cheers!

it seems to be that the "Quite mode" just prolongs the shutter and doesnt actually "quite it" also it looks as if holding it is somewhat of a bulb function.

Congrats on your new D7000. Fantastic explanation. Great video. I'm a Nikon fan and i simply love the shutter sound. I heard that this D7000 over exposes occasionally. Is that true. I'm thinking of buying this. So pls give me your suggestions and your shooting experience so far. Happy clicking :-)

what is a stereo audio input? I have a voice recorder can i connect that to the nikon to use as an external mic?

@omarelkady Do what i did. Get a lower range Nikon first. I've lived with a D3000 for two years. And it was $600 new as a kit. Then as time went on I got little gadgets here and there... and now I am going to buy a D7000 in 7 days. But I wouldn't buy an advanced camera until I knew what I was doing on a lower range.. such as the differences in ISO range, the ratios of shutter speed and aperture, what lenses work and don't... how to use photoshop... how NOT to use photoshop. Start small. Then big
