Who is DC Comics Mon-El? The Daxamite 'Superman'

This video explores the abilities, powers, and origin of the DC Comics character "Mon-El." From growing up on the planet Daxam with the name Lar Gand, meeting Jor-El many years ago on the planet Krypton, arriving on Earth with amnesia and meeting a young Superman while he was Superboy, Kal-El thinking that Lar Gand was a Kryptonian that was his brother, gaining the name Mon-El as well as Valor and M'Onel, gaining vast superpowers similar to Superman because of his Daxamite genetics absorbing energy from the yellow sun, being immune to kryptonite but being susceptible to the common element lead, spending thousands of years in the Phantom Zone just to survive, being freed after using a serum cure that was developed by Brainiac 5 and Saturn Girl, to being the founder and strongest member of the Legion of Superheroes; Let's take a look at this DC superhero, and powerfully similar cosmic neighbor of Superman. mol-el is a very underrated character that need get more love. i would see him in a movie. the one in supergirl is not the best.

The 90's Legion costume was great. I like the star patterns. Also in that series Kon-el put him in the Phantom Zone and brought him out. As I recall, they hinted that RJ Brande was actually the Martian Manhunter, who suggested the name M'Onel, which means wanderer.
Since Lar was basically a legendary figure, the seeder of worlds, he had to hide his identity.
Always thought that was neat.

Good video, I enjoy coming back to it and I hope this guy gets more comics dedicated to him. Personally I like the Daxamites much more than Kryptonians, I feel they could bring in an entirely new story and exciting adventures with Mon-El and his people. If I was on the DC team I would just have an entire line of comics dedicated to this man.

In the series Valor, he lost his powers after being exposed to a red sun...he also succumbed to lead poisoning in the last issue despite efforts of Brainiac 5.However, Brainy realized that the Lar Gand in the Phantom Zone must fill-up the deceased one so that the Legion and the legend of Lar Gand in the future would not be erased.
