Hi Tom,

A lot of the information you provided was correct however the term "safe" should not be used in the way that you presented it. Just in the United States, almost 13000 drugs and devices have been pulled from the market for safety concerns. The most well known is probably silicone breast implants. Drug approval in the US (probably other countries) is based on money and politics and not as much on safety as it should be. You really should point out there is an ideal way things should be done and the actual way they are done which is very different. When you take money from Pharma for sponsorship, you give up the objectivity that's needed to assess properly.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of R&D goes into monetising technology and not the cessation of diabetes. Mountains of money and insurance is spent in these markets now, and much of it has not advanced the care of diabetes much, but the corporate profits and shareholder dividends are massive.

in 2012 I participated in a insulin study for a year I got the insulin they were testing and others got Lantis to take. worst part was I had to have a blood draw twice where they took 17 different vials at the same time. at that time they said if it made it to market that it would take 5 years which is about the same time Treciba come on the market. which I am on now.

You crack me up. You might want to do some in depth research on the pharmaceutical industry. Many., many dangerous medicines have made it into patients hands/bodies. Many lawsuits, many recalls, many deaths. I'm sorry but this is actually the truth.

Very few actually interesting trials going on. In a 3000 KM radius, i found like 1 thats interesting, and its the vertex stuff that requires you to be on immunosuppressants. Wish there was more experiments, lot of interesting stuff popping up in science about diabetes/autoimmunity, but whats the point if it dosent get into clinical trials for decades.
