I am a former Nord user and current Proton user (and Mullvad for a brief time)
I think nord is great for general use and streaming while Proton is great for torrenting and port forwarding.
One of the few issues Nord that erks me is that it costs over 12 dollars or more for its extensive features.

What do you think?

excellent review Tom! I was using Nord in Canada and I could not watch Netflix or Prime outside of Canada? So all in all, what do you recommend for a great low cost VPN in Canada that can unblock geo restricted content? I'm Stumped.I also found NORD SLOW:( Thank you. Just subscribed:)

10:10 oh yes, reddit blocks visitors who uses vpn, thr only way to circumvent it is to log in unless you use front site or something.

3 year deal + 3 free extra months with PIA works out at £1.67 GBP/month. Inexpensive.

Nord is better than proton because protonvpn leaks traffic when connection drops on android..it's kill switch failed to stop traffic on android. They need to work on it.

Which is better? Well none of them. In my opinion VPN is needed maybe for perpetrators only. Maybe for authoritarian countries also, but dictators can easily cut internet from the rest of world. So, VPN is not so much helps. BTW, Tom Scott very clearly explain this also.
