Daytime shooting leaves one man dead

Frustrations boiling over after a brazen daylight shooting in East York that left one man dead and another in hospital. The 20th gun-related incident has many asking what it will take to end the violence.

The crime in Toronto is out of control and the worst is yet to come. In the 1970s and 1980s, Toronto was a wonderful place to live. There was no crime and radio commentators used to comment on how few homicides there were in Canada compared to the large number committed in American cities.

All of us call the police if you see gang related activities in your building, the police are not babysitters, many times people see criminal activities and they stay silent. Parents correct your children early so we don’t see this anymore!

What exactly does she want the Police to do?
The guy who survived the shooting knows EXACTLY who shot him but remains silent.
The Police are not paid to be a personal bodyguard.
You have to meet them halfway.

It's the community. They do more to support the criminals than the police. Until people accept that we all have parts to play in making a safe society and not just blame others, nothing will change. And I love the discriptions of the shooters, they just murdered somebody, but you wouldn't want to violate their rights by giving a proper physical description.

Is it really that hard to implement tougher laws??

Stop giving people charged with gun related offences bail period. Also;

A minimum of 5 years no parole if you’re caught with a gun.

A minimum of 10 years no parole if you’ve shot a firearm.

A minimum of 25 years no parole if you’ve murdered someone with intent.

Beef up security throughout vulnerable points of entry across the border.

Justice system mustn't take it easy on those that possess illegal handgun. Sentence them to 10 years in prison and then the violence will be ceased.

Police chief needs to resign I swear theres been so many shooting during his term. And if that is not an option then time for him to stop holding back and go full force in fighting these things. Put more cops out there now forget about carding being an issue etc do what is needed don't need to be politically correct we want results show us by end of the year n if you can't reach it. Resign.

From my very caring atheist perspective, things are tiring enough simply by observing the cyclical nature of people dying, and then seeing people standing around the coffins, proclaiming that they are now in a better place. Not a single bullet ever produced an afterlife. Try to understand that, rather than fuel cognitive dissonance fanning it.
