The fact that this has happened multiple times, (changing rules and as a result Stratagems and Enhancments just don't work anymore) makes me seriously question if the 40k rules writers even talk to each other to see if something is changing before writing the new rules.

Mordain Glory has sources saying that no deepstrike on scions is a mistake that is most likely gonna be corrected.
Our codex is full of typos due to last minute heavy revision apparently

Lotta WW1 pistols did have adjustable ironsights with rather optimistic distances, like 500m+. For the artillery versions this was slightly more realistic in that they often had longer barrels (and greater distances between the sights, making the sights more accurate), and detachable stocks/holsters.
So maybe an artillery officer could hit someone at 500m with a pistol, maybe. Better chances than anyone else anyways.

48" range on a heavy Las Pistol seems legit on Kriegsmen tbh as everything closer then 40" would be engaged in glorious shovel-based melee anyway so it's effectively only a range of 8" for shooting :)

According to Goonhammer, Scions are getting Deep Strike back but it’s gonna be a Day 1 FAQ/Errata. IDK why they didn’t just keep it on them in the first place but here we are.
