About the Author
Masaru Emoto is an internationally renowned Japanese researcher who has gained worldwide acclaim. Emoto is a graduate of the Yokohama Municipal University's department of humanities and science with a focus on International Relations, and he received certification as a Doctor of Alternative Medicine from the Open International University. Emoto's research has visually captured the structure of water at the moment of freezing, and through high-speed photography he has shown the direct consequences of destructive thoughts and the thoughts of love and appreciation on the formation of water crystals. But words written down on paper are only words. Letters are only symbols that represent sounds that when strung together in specific forms and patterns then represent ideas and concepts, but ONLY to someone who knows what patterns are associated with what ideas. Meaning, that since I don't speak Japanese, looking at a Japanese character or symbol would be meaningless to me, cuz I wouldn't know what words those characters represent. So I don't believe that the water was reading the words "Thank you" or "Fool" that were written on the papers. I believe that what the water was reading was their intentions behind those words. It was not the papers it was reading, but the people who were holding the papers. Because THEY were the ones who knew what those words meant. I'd actually like to see the same experiment conducted with words that were in a language that the people who were conducting the experiment were unfamiliar with, to see if it bears the same results.
