In 1999, During the war with Pakistan, America denied( blocked ) GPS usage for Indian Army, GPS could have helped Indian army . Now ISRO has it's own 9 GPS satellite in the space . now aswer is it ISRO necessary for INDIA . I am proud to be an INDIAN

Problem with our media is that during chandrayaan-2 no one showed that the orbiter in that mission had the highest pixel camera ever on the moon...
That is still working and is taking high resolution pics...
But our media was busy marketing how the bahubali rocket is carrying and other useless stuffs

I am pursuing my masters space Engineering from Berlin. I remember my prof mentioning ISRO along with Spacex as one of the cheapest options to send satellites to space. This is given the fact that spacex is able to reuse its boosters and us without even doing that are able to compete with them on cost.
